What a beautiful MLK Day of Service!

On January 24, 2016February 1, 2016 By Vita LitvakLeave a comment

Over 50 volunteers showed up on Martin Luther King Day of Service to build our garden! It was inspiring and so powerful to see the community come together and pitch in despite below freezing temperatures! Thank you everyone for your amazing work, generosity, and love! We can’t wait to grow food for everyone in the Spring!

It’s finally strawberry season!!! Mmmm yum! ❤️♥️❤️ We are throwing a painting party for our garden furniture! May 14th! 8am to 1 pm. Snacks provided! Are you greens exploding right now?!! Here is a small selection of the green fireworks happening in our garden 💚 Spring is finally here!! And we are back in action, taking a mid afternoon art break in the garden and watching our seeds emerge and blossoms boom! Wishing you all a magical start of the growing season ☀️🌨💚 The most beautiful time of day at our garden. Help support us this Giving Tuesday and be a part of bringing back our free music series next summer! We will also use the funds to purchase new tools and rebuild some old beds. Link in bio! ❤️ Come out to volunteer with Men Who Care of Germantown! We are getting ready for the next season and are hoping to rebuild some old beds, build new beds for a pollinator garden, replace some old tools, and most importantly restart our music series! Help us maintain and grow this very special community space in our neighborhood by donating to our GoFundme campaign. Link in bio! Our tiny gardeners hard at work during last week’s work day. Super excited to get all our fields of sunflowers cleaned up, mulched, and looking supper pretty! Thanks everyone who came out! Come again this Saturday at 2pm for our special end of season potluck work day. We need all the help! How it started, how it’s going. Just unearthed a picture of our plot from 1973, when it was first purchased by GMHT. In the 80s and 90s this lot was know as the “Rocks”. Now it’s a veggie garden, a fruit orchard and a community gathering space 🌈💚🤗
